Arrival

Check-in: 4:00 PM Check-out: 11:00 AM

All guests must be 18 or older, or accompanied by an adult at all times.

To check-in, every guest must present a valid passport or US state-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID card), and a debit or credit card in their own name. We are unable to accept driver’s licenses or local IDs issued outside the US.

We are not able to host New York City residents.

Guarantee Policy

A valid credit card is required to confirm your reservation. A $100 pre-authorization is required on a credit or debit card in your name, presented at check-in.

If paying by cash, a $100 authorization on a valid credit or debit card is still required.

We reserve the right to charge the card on file for any property damage or penalties incurred during your stay, and to cancel a reservation if the card on file is invalid.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel by 12:15 AM local hotel time, at least 2 days before arrival, for no penalty.

Cancellations within 48 hours of arrival are charged one night plus tax.

No-shows are charged the full reservation amount, including tax.

Rates

All nightly rates are subject to local, city, and state taxes.

Pet Policy

Animals are not allowed on site, with the exception of trained service animals assisting guests with disabilities. Service animals must be under the guest’s control at all times. We may ask whether an animal is a service animal required because of a disability and what task it is trained to perform, as permitted by law.

Liability

The Local NYC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property, or for injury to guests or visitors. Guests are responsible for their own belongings and are encouraged to use lockers where provided.

Guests

All guests must register at reception with a valid government ID on file. Visitors are welcome at the hostel until 11:00 PM, but non-registered guests are not permitted upstairs or in guest rooms at any time. Occupancy may not exceed the maximum for your room: 2 people per private room, 1 person per dorm bed.

House Rules

Guests must follow all applicable laws and The Local NYC’s published house rules.

Serious or repeated violations may result in the immediate cancellation of the remaining stay without a refund. Guests may also be responsible for any resulting damage, cleaning costs, penalties, or unpaid charges.

Maximum Stay

Maximum stay is 14 days per calendar year. We reserve the right to cancel a reservation without refund at any time if laws, rules, or house policies are broken during a stay.

Right to Refuse or End a Stay

The Local NYC may refuse entry or end a guest’s stay when the guest:

• Presents a credible threat to the health or safety of another person
• Engages in violent, threatening, abusive, harassing, or seriously disruptive conduct
• Is so intoxicated that the guest cannot safely check-in or remain on the property
• Damages or misuses the property
• Engages in unlawful activity
• Exceeds permitted room occupancy
• Refuses to comply with reasonable staff instructions or published house rules
• Fails to provide valid identification, payment, or the required security authorization

This policy will be applied in accordance with applicable law and without unlawful discrimination.
