Halloween at The Local

If you haven’t been by in a while, things are getting creepy at The Local.  Stop in during the next couple of weeks for some Halloween treats.  We’ve added some fall offerings to our craft beer list and now serve hot apple cider at the café in the mornings.  We’re planning to have a lot of fun with our out of town guests for Halloween.  The bar will be open as normal on Friday and we hope that you join us in costume.

Halloween Candy Beer Pairings

Who said beverage pairings are just for haute cuisine? For $11 you can sample four of our craft beers that our director of food and beverage (ha, ha, ha – we mean Lauren!) has thoughtfully paired with typical Halloween candies.  Ask our bartenders to edify you on the finer notes enhanced by a handful of candy corn or caramels.

Scary Movie Monday

Movie Mondays have been nail-biters in the month of October.  Join us on the 27th at 9pm for the last of our scary movie lineup.  We’ll be screening the scariest of them all – Halloween- in the lobby and serving free popcorn.

Halloween Trivia

Our Thursday trivia night will have a Halloween-themed round this week.  Come with your own team or make friends on the spot to compete for a $50 bar tab.  That’s a lot of pumpkin beer!  Sign-ups start at 7:30 and the game starts at 8pm.

Thriller Dance Lessons

Join Seth and the rest of the Local staff at 3:30 on Friday as we teach a master class of Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance.  Seth will take us through the dance, step-by-step so that you can show of your moves at Halloween parties around the city.

Other Upcoming Events at The Local

Tuesday night’s Drink & Draw will surely feature some ghoulish inspiration.  We roll out the paper and bring out the supplies around five so be sure to pop in, say hello to Hannah at the bar, and get creative.  Wednesday’s Live & Local will be as happening as normal.  We have three great acts this week: Sister PactKelly Fragale, and Lukka.  The music kicks off at 8pm.  Sunday will be a big day, as we’ll cheer on our marathon running guests and friends.  Watch this space for more information about The Local cheering section for the NYC Marathon.  In the evening, we’ll continue with our new comedy series “Sunday Fun(ny) Day” at 9pm.  Chris is at the bar serving up lagers and laughs.
