The Local is in LIC, Queens – just across the river from Midtown Manhattan. Our neighborhood is known for its incredible access to the rest of the city. Get yourself here and we’ll help you navigate it all.
Airports
LaGuardia (LGA) is the closest and best reached using rideshare. JFK is a near second with a direct route via the AirTrain/E subway.
EWR is a bit further but easily accessed via the E or F subway + NJ Transit or an Airport Express bus.
Subway
Our subway stop is Court Square-23rd St, where the E, F, G, and 7 trains intersect.
Additionally, you can catch the N or W trains at Queensboro Plaza and the R train at Queens Plaza, both a 12 minute walk from our door.
Rideshare
Uber and Lyft can take you directly where you need to be. Uber has shared options that are more economical.

Check-in and Check-out
Check-in is 4pm and Check-out is 11am. Reception is here for you 24 hours a day.
Smoking and Vaping are not permitted
The Local is a smoke-free facility
Outside alcohol is not permitted
Guests who are 21 or older may enjoy drinks at our bar. Food must be kept in the kitchen.
Check-in Requirements
Guests must be 18 years of age and show a valid government ID and credit or debit card in their name.

We have vending machines, and an ATM, and coin-operated laundry on site and items for purchase at reception.

Pets are not permitted in guest rooms or in the café and bar.
Trained service animals are welcome as required by applicable law. Contact us before arrival when you have questions about a service animal or accessibility need.
No. The entire hostel is smoke-free. That includes vaping and marijuana products. Guests must refrain from smoking in and around the front door and on our rooftop.
Quiet hours are from 10:30pm to 9am.
You may come and go at any time, but please keep conversations, music, alarms, and other noise low while other guests are sleeping.
